Vermont

Democrat Peter Welch overwhelmingly defeated Miriam Berry in the 2020 election, where he once again secured his blue seat in the U.S House of Representatives representing Vermont’s at-large congressional district.

Welch has held the position since 2007 and has built a large following due to his focus on the state’s needs.

He has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump and received 238,778 votes compared to Berry’s 95,810.

Though he is entering his eighth term in the House, Welch believes that Vermont is a pivotal state of working class people who are more concerned about their needs than loyalty to a specific political party.

On Election Day, Republican Phil Scott was re-elected for governor, but about 66% of the state voted for President-elect Joe Biden.
